This is so incredibly charming! I love the stylized tree and the gradiated background - that color really highlights the rest of the picture. The highlights in here are really interesting as well. ^^

well,i guess you´d have to try it to know if you like it.everyone has their own faves.i suppose what seems easy to one is hard for another and vice versa.
but
I like gouache because you can thinner it and blend it with water(like watercolours) but its heavier and the colours are left really rich and strong.
I use these quite cheap russian ones,meant for kids I guess.But theyre absolutely superb ,reaaally gorgeous colours and easy to work with AND theyre made with honey which gives the colours .."something" extra.
but in my drawings i do some of it with pencils and some with paint,i think that leaves me more choises to get it to look just as i like it.

Ooh, sounds lovely and very versatile!
Its one of the few medias I haven't dappled in at least. I've done acrylic, oil, pastels, charcoal, graphite -etc etc-. even stone sculpture.

Just not guashe and metals really.. =x

hehe,then you should defenitely try it.
Ive done oils,acrylics,watercolours,oil/dry pastels,colour pencils etc.
And I have to say...gouache is defenitely one of my very very faves to work with!
